The Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine announced that they held their Spring Academic Conference on March 10th at the Center for Medical Innovation (CMI) at Seoul National University Hospital.
It is a significant event where sleep specialists and sleep analysis experts from across the country gather in one place to share their academic expertise and research findings. It aims to foster collaboration among members and promote the integration of research outcomes.
At this conference, Professor Jiho Choi from the Department of Otolaryngology at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital introduced an AI sleep disorder diagnostic SW.
Recently, Professor Jiho Choi, in collaboration with sleep specialized company, HoneyNaps, published a clinical research paper on sleep EEG analysis and sleep stage classification using deep learning algorithms in the SCIE international journal 'MEDICINA'.
At this spring academic conference, a presentation was given on HoneyNaps' AI algorithm, SOMNUM, which focuses on sleep. The presentation explained the functionality of automatically scoring EDF (European Data Format) files recorded through polysomnography (PSG), as well as the ability to perform 'Signal Viewing' and 'Re-Scoring' as needed.
HoneyNaps' SOMNUM AI algorithm, which has been validated through over 18 million clinical trials in domestic and U.S. tertiary hospitals from 2019 to 2021, is currently awaiting approval as an automated sleep disorder diagnostic SW by the U.S. FDA.
